Bring Sverige home.

2026

On Sweden's National Day, a unique initiative emerged to preserve and celebrate an iconic symbol of Swedish maritime heritage.

The legendary yacht Sverige, designed in 1976 by sailing champion Pelle Petterson, christened by HM Queen Silvia of Sweden the same year, and known around the world through America's Cup participation in 1977 and 1980, has been meticulously restored by a private shipyard in Norway. As a 50-year mark, she is now back to her original design and shape, with new sails and ready to begin a new chapter.
The initiative is launched to ensure that this symbol of Swedish sailing excellence continues to inspire future generations in Sweden.
The ambition is simple: To find the right custodian – a sailor, family, foundation or consortium buying the privilege of holding the next stewardship of one of Sweden's most iconic sailing yachts. While at the same time supporting young sailors with a conscious donation.
An auction for Sweden and for youth – “Bring Sverige Home”
On Sweden’s National Day, June 6th 2026, a unique auction was initiated with the final “Hammer Price” announced in connection with the 12mR World Championship in Marstrand, Sweden – August 18-22nd, 2026. The auction will be managed online and start on June 15th. More information about the yacht and the auction can be found here www.bringsverigehome.com
